Lauren Rapoport

Lauren Rapoport is a sophomore at Ithaca College who is majoring in documentary studies and production and minoring in counseling. She aims to direct documentary films that address social injustices and the environmental crisis, and is looking to continue her education in graduate school. Lauren has primarily helped to film, interview, and edit with this project, and feels that the skillset she has honed throughout this experience will better prepare her for future documentary endeavors. Some passions of Lauren include working with animals, engaging in political discussion, trying new and exciting vegan foods, working with children, editing, and gardening.

 

Sandra Aguirre

Sandra is a junior at Ithaca College. She is majoring in journalism with a minor in Spanish.

 

During her time at Ithaca College, Sandra has particpated on Ithaca College Television as a writer for the show The Director's Chair. Along, with doing ICTV, she is also involved as a radio DJ for VIC an online radion at IC and as writer for VIC's tumblr page.

 

After graduation she hopes to work in print journalism writing articles about topics of immigration and education equality in English and Spanish.

 

Isabella Grullon

Isabella Grullón is a sophomore journalism student at Ithaca College. She is also working towards a double minor is business administration and international politics. 

 

She is active in and around campus. Isabella is the Vice President of the equestrian team on campus, the Newsletter editor of the International Club and the Features Editor of the Ithaca College chapter of HerCampus. 

 

Isabella is interested in media for social change as well as economic and political issues on a global scale. 

 

Angela Pradhan

Angela Pradhan is majoring in Journalism and minoring in International Politics at Ithaca College and is a part of the competitive Martin Luther King Scholarship Program. Also a part of the Ithaca College Honors program, she has done extensive research on how trauma and poverty affects communities of color; depression in Asian American women; and gender income inequity. In her free time Angela served as an assistant producer and guest co-anchor for Ithaca College's first sociopolitical news show, The RoundTable.

She is currently a contributing writer for Foreign Policy in Focus, a project of the Institute for Policy Studies. Angela was selected to be in the 2015 Next Leaders Internship Program this past summer. This program picks young leaders from around the world and trains them in public scholarship, policy research, and grassroots activism.


After graduation she hopes to report or conduct research for an international independent news outlet. She would like to write about injustices around the world and different issues of human rights violations. She also plans to pursue a master’s degree in international public policy to changes laws that infringe upon the rights of others on a global scale.

 

Melanie De Lima

Melanie is a junior at Ithaca College.  She is currently majoring in Television-Radio with a concentration in Media Production and a Journalism Minor.
 

Outside of the classroom she is a member of the Ithaca College Television (ICTV) and a contributor for Ithaca College’s radio station (WICB & VIC).  She is also a news reporter for WICB News’ radio magazine “Ithaca Now” and Ithaca College's Newspaper The Ithacan. 

Besides the media industry, she is also involved as the current Vice-President for Ithaca College’s International Club and has volunteer experience as the Vice-President for Ithaca College’s Red Cross Club. 

 

She is very interested in the subjects of inequality, race relations and international politics. Which often lead her to dedicate her passion on topics on diversity and it's current issues.
